Mitsubishi Electric Ductless Systems Receive ENERGY STAR

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

SUWANEE, Ga., February 13, 2013 - Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division, America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating technology, has nine systems that qualify for the ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient 2013 designation, making it the leader in Most Efficient ductless products. Mitsubishi Electric products have been awarded the Most Efficient designation for two consecutive years.

The Most Efficient designation recognizes ENERGY STAR qualified products with the highest efficiency ratings. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy created to save consumers money and protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.

"Mitsubishi Electric is proud to be recognized two years in a row as a leader in efficient cooling and heating systems that don't require ductwork," says John Clements, senior product marketing manager, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division. "The 2013 designations show our commitment to offering consumers and contractors the highest performing products on the market."

The following Mitsubishi Electric units qualify for the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2013 designation:

MUY/MSY-GE cooling only: 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000

MUZ/MSZ-GE heat pump: 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000

MUZ/MSZ-FE heat pump (Hyper-Heating): 9,000, 12,000 and 18,000

Mitsubishi Electric ductless split systems offer several energy-efficient and environmental benefits. The residential M-series features ratings as high as 26 SEER. Several models are available with the company's Hyper-Heating (H2i®) technology, which provide efficient and comfortable heating performance when temperatures are as low as minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit. At 5 degrees Fahrenheit most H2i models can provide 100 percent of the rated heating capacity.

Mitsubishi Electric residential and commercial systems use environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant and are made of 80 percent recyclable components. They also feature INVERTER-driven compressors that provide only the exact amount of energy needed to reach a zone's set temperature, reducing energy consumption.
